What can we do to get in a good sweat at home? Sasha believes yoga is the best form of exercise to do while cleansing and recommends this free app  for an easy home practice developed by Nike Master Trainer Traci Copeland (look under the “Get Focused” section of the app). Deep breathing helps our bodies eliminate toxins, so ensure you’re focused on your breath to make the most of your session.

Sasha recommends while cleansing to adopt the mantra “less is more”. Now is not the time for intense workouts. Aim for anything that raises your heart rate and helps you break a light sweat, from yoga to bodyweight training, rebounding to a short distance run. It is important to note the benefits of staying hydrated with while cleansing, as drinking plenty of water will help flush out toxins. As working out increases our hydration needs, ensure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day, sipping even before feeling thirsty. Thirst is the first sign of dehydration, so keep a bottle handy and stay hydrated.

So you’re signed up for a juice cleanse and know how to optimize it with exercise: what’s next? Having the right mindset is key for translating intention in to action. We agree with Sasha that meditation is an amazing tool for helping us stay calm and focused on our goals. And you don’t need a guru to get started! Sasha recommends an app called Calm, and we love Headspace
